Sound Bath

A Sound Bath is an improvised meditative concert that supports states of deep relaxation where stress release and healing can occur.   A gentle yet powerful experience for the mind and body.

Sound can bring balance, relaxation and a sense of wholeness to the body.  The sound of harmonic vibrations created by singing bowls, gongs and other highly resonant instruments are intended to stimulate the alpha and theta brain waves.  These waves are associated with deep meditative and peaceful states that are highly conducive to healing. Sound can also slow down the heart and respiratory rate, creating a therapeutic effect on the mind and body. When the brain waves and body are synchronized, balance can be restored and stress released.

This experience can be helpful for anyone who wants to access a moment of relaxation or gain the benefits from meditation.  A sound bath is an opportunity to explore what a meditative state is and how it feels.  For this reason, it can be beneficial for  both beginners of meditation and experienced meditators as well.  Individually and as a group, self-discovery and personal inquiry can be explored.

Sound is vibration and vibration can effect every part of our being.  Sound is not only 'heard' through the ears but through every cell in our bodies.  Entering the healing equation from many different directions, sound can have a profound effect on the organs, tissues, and cells, as well as the circulatory, endocrine, and metabolic systems.  It reaches the body at all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
