Please join me for a mini retreat weekend of restoring and healing in Martha's Vineyard. Saturday will include and Restorative Yoga workshop in the afternoon followed by a sound bath in the evening. Individual healing sessions will be offered Friday and Sunday.
RELAX + RESET: A RESTORATIVE YOGA WORKSHOP
What is Restorative Yoga and why is this style of yoga beneficial to our bodies, minds, and lives? This workshop will introduce a number of Restorative postures and their benefits and provide time and space to access deep levels of active relaxation.
-learn to become comfortable with multiple props
-get familiar with how to set up Restorative poses
-discover options for using furniture and blankets at home to set up Restorative poses
-learn to recognize signs of discomfort in the body and how to adjust to be more comfortable
Following this discovery process, students will be treated to a Restorative Yoga class which will include a short Yoga Nidra session and optional Reiki for each participant. This workshop is suitable for all levels of practitioners, including those with no prior yoga experience.
SOUND BATH w/ Basia Blonska
Sound is vibration and vibration can effect every part of our being. Sound is not only 'heard' through the ears but through every cell in our bodies. Entering the healing equation from many different directions, sound can have a profound effect on the organs, tissues, and cells, as well as the circulatory, endocrine, and metabolic systems. It reaches the body at all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Sound can bring balance, relaxation and a sense of wholeness to the body. The sound of harmonic vibrations created by singing bowls, gong, tuning forks and other highly resonant instruments can also stimulate the alpha and theta brain waves. These waves are associated with deep meditative and peaceful states that are highly conducive to healing.
